One day I was starting at an IV bag attached to a patient who was dealing with severely advanced arthritis. I saw that she was in excruciating pain that had been so clearly afflicting her for many years. Her arm and hand's anatomy was very distorted by her disease, this expressed the whole essence of her suffering. So this piece is an ode to that pain and suffering.
